Death is nothing at all
I have just slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other.
That we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name...Play, smile, think of me, pray for me...
All is wellHenry Scott Holland
This memorial website was created to remember our dearest June U. Christie who was born in Frankfield, Clarendon, Jamaica on July 9, 1954 and passed away on January 20, 2012.
June U. Christie (also known as Urlina Christie), an outstanding educator taught at Mona Preparatory School, Kingston, Jamaica for over 30 years, selflessly nurturing and shaping young minds, guiding them to a path of excellence.
She also taught at the St. Andrew High School for Girls, Tarrant Primary School, Alvernia Preparatory School and Alley Primary School. June graduated from The University of the West Indies, Mona; Nova Southeastern University; St. Joseph's Teachers' College and Frankfield Comprehensive High School (now Edwin Allen High School).
Tributes, memories and enthusiastic praise of my sister, June Christie’s outstanding qualities have been pouring in bringing home with force the sheer reach and power of a teacher, friend and mother who lived an impressive life. By letter, email, phone calls, visits, those who knew her well and whose lives she touched shared memories that were touching, affectionate, varied and sometimes surprising.
Hers is a life to be celebrated. Her legacy will be the many people she inspired and the lives she changed.
It is my sincere hope that this website and the publications we have generated will celebrate the unique personality and the precious memory of my sister June Ulani Christie and inspire others to make a difference and make the world a little brighter.
You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
